Auber, Daniel

Daniel Francois-Esprit Auber(1782-1871), French composer, despite his father wanting him to be a businessman, he studied music with Cherubini and became a composer, later served as the director of the Paris Conservatory. He established French grand opera; his comic operas are the best of France. He composed over 40 operas, operettas, and sacred music.
2012, A Joint Issues of France and Sweden, "Gustave III" is an Opera composed by Auber. It tells the Story of Swedish King who ruled Sweden from 1771 to 1792. The same story, but different titled "The Masked Ball", an opera composed by Giuseppe Verdi.
